networkingBal Pairvi Network (BPN)

Bal Pairvi Network came into existence to ensure four basic child rights (right to survival, right to development, right to protection and right to participation) its operational area in Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur districts. The network has five partner organisations:

  1. Samta Sansthan, Siwana, Barmer
  2. Grameen Pragati Sansthan, Gira, Barmer
  3. Prayas Sansthan, Sindhari, Barmer
  4. ECATA Sansthan, Jaisalmer
  5. Marwar Janhit Samiti, Pokran, Jaisalmer

These organisations are working in their respective operational areas on specific issues. Yet a common thread binds them and that is they are committed and devoted for ensuring of basic child rights and child participation. Each organisation is directly working in five villages of a gram panchayat and also carrying out advocacy in other villages of the operational area on children’s issues.

Major BPN Activities

  • Regular visits to the schools
  • Watch discrimination and atrocities cases
  • Formation of Bal Mandals and adolescent groups in the area, regular meetings and activities
  • Activation of public distribution system, schools and health services
  • Awareness on National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) and land issues

BPN is working as a strong network in western Rajasthan, advocating on issues like atrocities, discrimination, land issues and other pro-people issues, apart from children’s rights. BPN partner organisations are being coordinated by LKS and supported by Child Rights and You (CRY), New Delhi.

LKS is closely associated with several district/regional/state/national networks:

National Alliance for Right to Education and Equity (NAFRE)

This is an informal alliance formed by people’s organisations, national networks and leading NGOs and is working in 15 States of the country. NAFRE is working on the issue of equity in education and fundamental right to work.

Jan Morcha Rajasthan

This is a state level network formed by NGOs and people’s organisations working on education, health, local self governance and drought management. LKS Chief Executive, Bhanwarlal Choudhary, is working as its regional convener.

Lok Adhikar Manch

Lok Adhikar Manch is working at north India level on the issues of regional as well as national interests. Main issue of LAM is public distribution system and unorganised sector. Bhanwarlal Choudhary, secretary of LKS, is executive committee member of LAM.

Rajasthan Voluntary Health Association (RVHA)

This is a state level network working to improve health status in the state. LKS is is life time member of RVHA.

Lok Adhikar Network (LAN)

This Barmer level network is working on Dalit and women empowerment.

Sacar

LKS secretary Bhanwarlal Chaudhary is state convenor of Sacar, a network organisation working all over Rajasthan on issues like implementation of juvenile justice act, quality institutional care and alternative care of children in need of care.
